Things have been very busy at Blessington over the last month or two. Two weeks after the Nationals we had the first go at the 6th annual Windsurfers verses the Cats Blessington Marathon. This race was abandoned due to light wind. It was a totally different story the following week. Force 6 to 7 and very gusty. All the Cats Capsized apart from Philip O'Sullivan and the overall Cat winner John Sheerin in his new Dart 18 - Welcome back John.
The next three weeks were taken up by the Club Championships. The races were all sailed on small courses which made for very exciting racing. The races only lasting about 40 minutes and 2 each day, it was a great series. The series could have been won by any of three boats going into the last race and was won by Dermot McHugh in the end.
The season is now winding up with the Frostbite series and with one week to go is being led by Neil Mangan & Eoin Marshall.
Sailing begins again in Blessington with the Spring Lamb in April.
